GGCI Meets with Jakarta Delegation
Jakarta is the fastest sinking city in the world and one of the most crowded ones. Indonesia has been working on changing the capital to the island of Borneo which they believe will provide a more "sustainable forest" capital city. In researching global capital cities to learn about sustainable urban practices, a delegation of Indonesian public officials visited Washington, D.C.. Georgetown Global Cities Initiative's Faculty Director Uwe Brandes provided the delegation a tour of Capitol Riverfront and joined a reception to continue discussions around D.C. as a livable capital city and GGCI's activities.
