Shareen Joshi uses tools from economics and statistics to understand the processes of economic development at the grassroots of societies.  Her recent work explores the relationship between water pollution and infant mortality in India's cities, and the role of public interest litigation at the Supreme Court of India to address the pollution challenge in urban industrial clusters.
