Your Voice: Future Cities

Help reimagine downtown DC as a vibrant place to live, learn, and connect—join students and faculty to shape its future together.

As the city center evolves into a place of living, learning, and culture, this collaborative session invites participants to shape the stories and ideas that will inspire others to see downtown as a shared civic home worth investing in. Through conversation, ideation, and the Museum’s “I Hope This Becomes” platform, you’ll help build a new narrative for the future of cities—while connecting with peers across campuses. Food and drinks provided.

About This Event

With more than a dozen universities now present in downtown DC—and more arriving each year—students are becoming a defining part of the city’s future.

The National Building Museum believes that shaping the future of cities requires more than technical expertise—it requires public belief that these places matter.

We need your voice to help build that narrative.

Join a pop-up co-lab bringing together students from across the DC region for an afternoon of ideation, conversation, and collaborative visioning. Together, participants will develop the stories, messages, and ideas that can inspire people to see downtown as a shared civic home worth investing in.

This session is part of the Museum’s Future Cities initiative, which invites communities to imagine what their neighborhoods, buildings, and cities could become.

Food and drinks will be provided to encourage conversation and connection. Students from across institutions are encouraged to attend.
