The Road to Sustainable Leadership: BMW Group DC Student Dialogue

Please note that this event is reserved for students with a valid GUID.

BMW Group has a clear commitment to sustainable mobility.   However, climate friendly mobility is not achieved by simply increasing the number of electric vehicles on the road. The decisive factor in the fight against global warming is how strongly can the carbon footprint of vehicles improve over their entire life span.  BMW Group has set clear targets for CO₂ reduction by looking at the entire life cycle of a vehicle, including production and upstream supply chain.

However, these challenges to sustainable growth and how companies are dealing with CO2 emissions requires a collective effort across sectors.  BMW Group has been continuously sharing ideas with stakeholders for many years on the topic of sustainability, including our future young leaders.  We therefore invite you to participate in a focused roundtable discussion on the topics below.  Joining us for each topic with be two experts providing opening presentations to begin the discussions.

Supply Chain and the Circular Economy - Environmental and social standards within the supply chain and the use of secondary materials.

- Adina Renee Adler, Deputy Executive Director, Silverado Policy Accelerator

- Denise Melville, Head of Sustainability, BMW of North America

Production and Transport - Efficient management of resources in production facilities and transporting of products on and off a production facility.

- Allison Nyholm, Vice President of Policy, American Council on Renewable Energy

- Travis Tarbet, Section Manager, Environmental Management, BMW Manufacturing Co.

- Genevieve Cullen, President, Electric Drive Transportation Association

We are also pleased to have Paul Lewis,  Chief Finance Officer and Policy Director at the Eno Center for Transportation, joining us to moderate the discussions.
