About the speakers:
Chris Nassetta is president and chief executive officer of Hilton Worldwide. He joined the company in 2007. Previously, Nassetta was president and chief executive officer of Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc., a position he held since 2000. He joined Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. in 1995 as executive vice president and was elected chief operating officer in 1997. Before joining Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc., Nassetta co-founded Bailey Capital Corporation in 1991, where he was responsible for the operations of the real estate investment and advisory firm. He previously spent seven years at The Oliver Carr Company, ultimately serving as chief development officer. In this role, he was responsible for all development and related activities for one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the mid-Atlantic region. Nassetta graduated from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce with a degree in finance. He currently serves on the McIntire School of Commerce Advisory Board.
Hrish Lotlikar is currently the co-founder and CEO of SuperWorld. Previously, he co-founded Rogue Initiative Studios, a Hollywood film, TV, gaming, and immersive entertainment studio. He was also the founding managing partner of Eastlabs, an early-stage venture capital fund based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Previously, Lotlikar was a senior business developer and global evangelist at Toptal (backed by Andreessen Horowitz, the Rockefellers, and the co-founders of Facebook and Zynga), a venture capital investor at Spencer Trask Ventures, and an investment banker at both UBS Investment Bank and HSBC Securities, where he specialized in public finance, corporate finance, and M&A. He also was an associate in the Global Business Development Group at management consulting firm, Hewitt Associates. Lotlikar was born in India and grew up in the United States. He also has spent many years living around the world in Europe, Asia, and South America. He has a close connection to the people and cultures in Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Spain, France, Vietnam, China, Colombia, Bali, and Thailand. He holds a B.A. in political science from Rice University and both an MBA and MPH from University of Illinois at Chicago. In his free time, he enjoys working out, fashion photography, and traveling the world.
W. Edward Walter is currently the global CEO of the Urban Land Institute. He began this position in June of 2018 after his retirement in December 2016 from Host Hotels & Resorts, completing a 20-year tenure with the company, including serving as the CEO and president since 2007. Previously, Walter was a partner with Trammell Crow Residential Company and the president of Bailey Capital Corporation. He currently serves on the board of directors of AvalonBay Communities, Inc. and was the former chairman of the Federal City Council, a Washington, D.C., business organization. He also is a past chairman and executive board member of NAREIT. Finally, Walter is on the Executive Committee of the Steers Center for Global Real Estate's Advisory Board.
