Please join us in welcoming Dr. Akin Abayomi for our annual Maloy Distinguished Lecture on Global Health. Dr. Akin Abayomi is an Emeritus Associate Professor of Medicine and Health Sciences at Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa. He is also the Principal Investigator for Global Emerging Pathogens Treatment Consortium.

Maloy Lecture History

 

In 1999, Paul and Catherine Maloy endowed the Maloy Family Fund to support health-related projects in the Science, Technology, and International Affairs program at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. These initiatives focus on international health issues, benefiting students from both the School of Foreign Service and the School of Nursing and Health Studies.

 

Paul J. Maloy is a 1968 graduate of the School of Foreign Service. As a former Senior Vice President at Chemical Bank and recently retired Managing Director at Chase Manhattan Bank, he currently serves as Interim Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations and Interim Executive Secretary of the Alumni Association at Georgetown University. Mr. Maloy is a member of the Georgetown Board of Regents, Board of Governors, and the School of Foreign Service Board of Visitors. Catherine Fowler Maloy is a 1968 graduate of the School of Nursing and Health Studies. In 1989 and 1990, she chaired the Georgetown Alumni Admissions Committee in London. The couple has two daughters, Christine Maloy graduated from the School of Foreign Service in 1992, and Karen Maloy graduated from Georgetown College in 1996.
