Crossroads of the Democratic Party with Mayor Pete Buttigieg

The Institute of Politics and Public Service (GU Politics) at Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy will host Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D-South Bend, IN) for a discussion entitled, Crossroads of the Democratic Party. The event is co-sponsored by the Georgetown University College Democrats.

In a conversation moderated by Mo Elleithee, Executive Director of GU Politics, Mayor Pete Buttigieg will speak about the future of the Democratic Party, including how a new generation of leaders are stepping up to lead the resistance against Donald Trump, and how Democrats can win elections in even the reddest of states. Drawing on his background as the nation’s youngest mayor of a major city, Afghanistan veteran, and candidate for Chair of the DNC, Mayor Pete will take questions from the Georgetown community on the road ahead for the Democratic Party and our nation.

Buttigieg was elected Mayor of South Bend, Indiana in 2011 and re-elected in 2015.
