Call for Applications: Eighth Annual Georgetown Global Cities Student Research Summit

We are pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for students to present their ongoing research at our eighth annual student research summit. The summit is designed to showcase interdisciplinary urban research from all schools and programs across Georgetown. Applications are due Sunday, January 25th, 2026 at 11:59pm EST, and the summit will be held on February 20th on the Hilltop with a reception to follow.

To present in the event, you will need to be an enrolled graduate or undergraduate student in any Georgetown University school or department and submit your presentation through the online submission form. We seek published, completed, or in-progress research projects exploring interdisciplinary urban challenges.  Submissions may be grouped under the themes outlined below and may originate in class assignments, thesis projects, or external engagements.

We invite student submissions for presentations on any urban-related topic, including these themes: urban systems, urban economics, cities and public health, social equity, housing, urban governance, climate change and urban resilience, migration, and data-driven urban development. Of particular interest are cross-cutting themes affecting global urbanization and exploring place-based and community-based studies.
